Our organization is founded on the idea of women supporting women. All women.

Our history

Our grandmothers and mothers had a place to go with local fraternal organizations (like Eastern Star, Rebekahs and church groups) to get out of the house and meet up with thier peers, where as our generation doesn't have many communal organizations, let alone maternal based groups. Here is where OSM comes in. We take the history of the Order of the Eastern Star (legacy members welcome to apply!) and make it our own.

A lot of our members have a legacy with the Freemason groups and OES, and while we are on a slightly different path, we respect the original Orders that were founded many generations ago.

Our mission

We are dedicated to having a group to belong to, a place to call home and the ability to help others in between craft workshops, gardening and dressy luncheons. Our members meet once a month via the internet, twice yearly for in-person gatherings at our founding Lodge in St. Augustine FL and local chapters will have events on a regular basis.

The Order of the Silver Moon (OSM) is an invite-only collective.
To be considered for membership, you must either:

Be invited by a Founding Member, or
Submit this inquiry form so we can get to know you better.

As a matter of safety for our members, we conduct a light background check on all inquiries.

About the Order

OSM is a non-religious, community-based organization founded on the tenets of empathy, community and social service.

We don’t require members to follow any specific belief system ~ in fact, diversity is encouraged.
Our members include:

Atheist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Witchy and more
Straight, gay, nonbinary and trans individuals

If your political or personal beliefs include hostility toward any of these groups, this space will not be a good fit ~ and that’s by design.

What Won’t Affect Your Application

We believe that who you are matters more than what’s on paper.
The following will not impact your membership eligibility:

Financial status
Religion or political affiliation (as long as you respect others’ views)
Criminal history ~ shit happens.
Education or background that has no bearing on how you treat people

If any of this feels uncomfortable, you probably won’t feel at home here … and that’s okay. We appreciate your interest and hope you find a better fit in another group.

What We Offer

Membership dues: $45 per year
This covers handmade membership packets, web hosting, postage, and other admin costs.

Upon approval, you’ll receive:

A verification email
Your OSM Membership Packet, including:
- Artist-made membership card
- Set of OSM business cards
- Meeting schedule and welcome guide
